Museo Chileno de Arte Precolumbiano

The Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art is a living, inclusive, and diverse space that, through its eleven thousand pieces of art, reflects the cultural richness of the Americas. This collection represents approximately fifty pre-Columbian cultures and indigenous peoples, displayed in two permanent exhibitions: Pre-Columbian America in Art and Chile before Chile . Each year, the Museum presents a program of temporary exhibitions and a varied agenda of educational and outreach activities, including a program of educational visits that reaches more than twenty thousand schoolchildren each year.
Located in the heart of the city's historic center, the building that houses the Museum was declared a Historic Monument in 1969. In the 1980s, thanks to the founding support of the Illustrious Municipality of Santiago, the Museum team took on the challenge of restoring a building previously unusable due to a fire, transforming it into a place of service to the community and an architectural pride of the city.
