Museum Kurhaus Kleve
The Städtisches Museum Kurhaus Kleve is one of the most important art museums in Germany and is located in the northwest of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, in close proximity to the Netherlands. Its perception is shaped by the unique interweaving of historical parkland, classicist architecture and an internationally oriented program. Its collections include exemplary holdings from the late Gothic period through the Baroque period to the main areas of contemporary art. Of particular note are the extensive estate of Ewald Mataré (1887–1965), significant volumes of the work of Joseph Beuys (1921–1986) and extremely rich graphic holdings from various eras.
