Culture Index exists to catalog cultural institutions online, and highlight the best practices that inspire us.
Launching with a focus on museums and building from there, we are a resource for both research and discovery. Browse information about online communications, and discover ideas with examples of what’s possible for cultural institutions in the digital space.
As a community project facilitated by Base, we invite you to use and contribute to this growing resource.
Sammlung Kirsch
The Kirsch Collection was created by the married couple Barbara and Jens Kirsch over thirty years of enthusiasm. Initially captured by the monotype “Deciduous Forest in Spring” (A 02) and the portrait of an unknown “Lady with a Red Cap” (A 05), both became increasingly fascinated by the chromatic intensity of his portraits and the sometimes glowing colors of his landscape paintings - not rarely expressed in an expressionistic manner. With over 80 paintings and graphics, as well as all the lithographs for the magazine “Jugend” as well as around 60 posters and postcards, it is now considered the most extensive private collection of Hans Christiansen’s images. There are also well over 100 of his handicraft exhibits.
