SKKG
The Foundation for Art, Culture and History, SKKG, based in Winterthur, was founded in 1980 by Bruno Stefanini. It is characterized by its dual core task: collecting and promoting. Both areas are geared towards preserving cultural heritage and encouraging participation in it. For the SKKG, cultural heritage is the necessary glue that holds a diverse society together. With increasing plurality and mobility, it is the basis for democracy, shared values and tolerance. These values are conveyed, maintained and lived through opportunities for participation in cultural heritage. The SKKG sees the cultural assets in its collection as part of social, historical and geographical memory. In accordance with the foundation's purpose, they should be conveyed to the public as values. When processing and communicating its collection, the SKKG is guided by the principles of participation, accessibility and transparency.
