Villa Stuck
In 1897/98, the 34-year-old painter, graphic artist, and sculptor Franz von Stuck (1863-1928) built his extraordinary artist's villa, featuring private living and reception rooms as well as an artist's studio, on the Isar River Heights according to his own designs. The house is the supreme expression of the artist prince's life's Gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art). The vestibule, reception room, music room, staircase, and studio, designed down to the last detail by the artist himself, have been preserved as masterpieces of spatial art. The Villa Stuck embodies an architecture that leads directly into modern architecture.
